Cherie DuFour

New Orleans Native, Cherie has been a lead guitarist and vocalist for several years as well as a avid songwriter. Picking up her first guitar at the age of 9, she knew her true heart was in music when she starting regularly gigging in some of New Orleans Haunts at the age of 13. Her French lineage took root in the psychedelic Funk Rock she grew up listening too and plays a big part in her musicianship.

Cherie has played with and opened for bands such as Zebra, Marcia Ball, Charmaine Neville, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and CoCo Robicheaux to name a few. Cherie's music influences are reflective of her Creole heritage including New Orleans second line grooves, voodoo beats and mystic Funk of the south.

She brings to Alive on Arrival, a unique powerful vocal style, with soulful rhythm and blazing lead guitar licks. You'll feel that Bayou Soul in your bones.

"They are professional at every turn and totally rock!!"

“Level 3 has been honored to have Laura Newman and her band play for many of our events over the last 10 years.  From holiday parties, small and large groups, informal gatherings and weddings of our senior executive’s families, they have provided hours of entertainment.  Their flexibility to adapt and adjust to any setting, not to mention the unusual or one off requests that bands get in the middle of a performance – all have been met with enthusiasm and “we’d be happy to do that for you”.  They are always first on my “go to list” when thinking of entertainment for any occasion.  With that said, they are professional at every turn and totally rock!!”

"These musicians certainly put on one heck of a performance"

"These musicians certainly put on one heck of a performance and had the entire bar smiling and dancing.  At one point during the show they even announced “shots for all!” and patrons lined up at the bar to enjoy a celebratory free shot.   And since the lead singer is from New Orleans the band also loves to play some jazz and blues hits and southern favorites.  If you enjoy live music I would certainly recommend checking out Alive on Arrival, especially if they’re playing at Herb’s, the perfect casual and fun atmosphere for this extremely entertaining band."
